Read-alouds are one of the most common practices in early childhood and elementary classrooms—yet many educators leave them feeling rushed, surface-level, or disconnected from children’s real thinking.
This workshop introduces a clear, dialogic framework that helps educators use picture books as spaces for meaningful dialogue, language development, and connection. Rather than focusing on comprehension checks or scripted questions, the approach centers children as meaning-makers and treats conversation as a core literacy practice.
During this live session, we will work through one shared picture book together, removing guesswork and helping the framework come alive in real time.
